Voices for the Silenced: Memorializing the Marginalized at the Central State Hospital Cemetery

Between 1848 and 1909 Central State Hospital for the Insane treated a wide range of Hoosiers with mental illnesses. Many patients died in the hospital without surviving family to claim their remains. This poster evaluates how the city of Indianapolis can memorialize and honor the patients who lived and died at Central State Hospital.
