Computational Fluid Dynamics of 3D Printed Tissue

Computational fluid dynamics (CFD) using software such as Ansys and Matlab are used to simulate the environment for scaffold-free biofabricated tissues. Scaffold-free biofabricated tissues are 3D printed tissues that use a temporary support which is later removed when the tissue can support itself. Using CFD allows for the optimization of the most ideal environment for the 3D printed tissues to grow due to in-depth understanding of stress and strain on the tissue in its fluid environment.
