The Grand Park App

Cameron Gross, Taylor Ramey, Luke Rasberry, and Aleya Woodall

During our field observations at Grand Park, we quickly noticed that visitors were asking themselves the exact same set of basic questions. Things like what will I have for lunch, where is my next game going to be, and how can I get access to a golf cart. All these questions were met with similar solutions – either bombard my coach for “insider” information, perform multiple different online searches, or hope you get lucky and can ask a local upon arrival. All these solutions were inefficient in finding data and took away from the overall family time that was the original focus of attending Grand Park. We asked the question: How might we simplify this information search for the Grand Park visitor? This birthed the idea of the G.P.A. (Grand Park App), a “One-Stop Shop” for relevant and instant information specifically designed for the visitors of Grand Park. The G.P.A. would become the welcome desk of Grand Park. By utilizing the technology of API’s we could create an aggregate of information that was already being collected and stored by the visitors’ smart phones. All we had to do was change where that information was being stored and make it much more accessible. The G.P.A. will create a future where users are no longer forced to work to find their own information but instead can rely on the “Welcome Desk Virtual Assistant” that is the G.P.A. This allows them to devote their valuable time back to their families with whom they came.
