My Time at an IU Brain Imaging Study
For LSHI, I have the chance to work with Dr. Leslie Hulvershorn and her team. Her team is working to find neural response connections with risky decision making in youth that at are risk for substance use. Together they use phone screens, interviews, and brain scans to find the connections that they are looking for. The study looks at the brain structures that are associated with decision making and, and how that relates with developing substance use disorders. There is a quick phone screen done first, then an initial assessment with a therapist. After that is done, they go through an MRI scan so that we can get pictures of their brain.
