Showcase

Experience engaged learning at IUPUI and beyond

Through engaged learning experiences, IUPUI students solve problems, demonstrate creativity, and make meaningful contributions to their communities. The annual Engaged Learning Showcase highlights this work.

Held online each April, the Engaged Learning Showcase brings together student work from all across IUPUI – different schools, different course levels, and different career pathways. These curricular and co-curricular experiences prepare IUPUI students to be our future leaders.

Executive Associate Dean of the Institute for Engaged Learning Jerry Daday welcomes you to the Engaged Learning Showcase.

Description of the video:

Hi, my name is Jerry. Today I'm the Executive Associate Dean in the Institute for Engaged Learning. And I'd like to welcome you to our Engage learning showcase. Because of the COVID-19 pandemic, the entire showcase is available online through this website. We created the engaged learning stroke showcase for a couple of reasons. First and foremost, it's an opportunity for our students to showcase the great work that they've done in a variety of settings over the past year. In many instances, really challenging work that was compounded because of the pandemic itself. What you'll find on the website are examples of student work that they've done in various types. Experiential and applied learning. Things like internship experiences, undergraduate research and creative activities, service learning, civic engagement and community engaged work, capstone projects, and a whole variety of other forms of engaged learning. Engaged learning is a hallmark of the IUPUI experience. It's where students roll up their sleeves and they learn by doing. It's where they take information that they've learned in the classroom and apply it in a variety of contexts. We hope you'll spend some time on the website clicking through the students work in exploring the stuff that they've done in labs and creative space in the community. Or an internship experiences. And really get a sense for the great applied work that our students are doing under the mentorship of faculty and staff on our campus. And the mentorship of folks in the larger community. We hope you'll spend some time clicking around and seeing the great work that our students are doing. And thanks so much for stopping by.
