The Process of Clinical Research

For my project, I would like to outline the steps of clinical research as well as what research looks like at my internship site, the Indiana Alzheimer’s Research Center (the Clinical Core). By doing this, I want to create a presentation that details the steps involved in patient research such as recruitments and grants, what the IRB is and what they do for patients, how doctors are involved, and why results and patient research is important. Through this process, I want to highlight the themes of patient care and professionalism I have been able to learn about firsthand at my site. Additionally, I would like to give specific examples of what kind of research is done at the Clinical Core and what we do with the results, as well as how the results impact the future of Alzheimer’s care and treatment.
