COVID-19 Vaccine Study

The Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (CTSI) was established in 2008 and is a part of 61 Clinical and Translational Science centers in the United States. It is a statewide research partnership between Indiana University, Purdue University and the University of Notre Dame. The CTSI provides valuable research experience that will accelerate translational research. Since 2008, the CTSI has supported over 5,000 researchers and trained over 400 scientists across Indiana. The Clinical Research Center (CRC), located within University Hospital, provides space and nursing for many of these research studies. The CRC is a 24-room unit that supports studies from different School of Medicine Departments including medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, nutrition, neuroscience, and various others. The CTSI CRC was selected as the only location in Indiana by AstraZeneca as a trial site for their phase III COVID-19 vaccine study. The study at the Indiana CRC enrolled over 500 subjects and required two doses of the vaccine plus multiple other visits over the course of two years.
