Anatomy and 3D Scanning Research

Dr. Andrew Deane is working with 3D scanning software and equipment to produce models for online teaching. This project has a goal of making models for medical students who learn and study skeletal bones, anatomical features, and soft tissue. This project site focuses on creating models that can be easily studied and accessed for both educating and researching purposes. Models are created from real cadavers, fossils, and bones. The features can be seen by moving the objects around to be studied. 3D scans are made from wet samples and dissected samples in the lab cadaver lab alongside medical students after they perform dissections for their own education purposes, and 3D models are made to be studied online as well.
